Why the name “Tailgate Talks”?  Throughout the founder’s 40-year career as a public servant, Donald Forgione has had some of the best meetings and brainstorming sessions sitting on the tailgate of his truck. In that relaxed setting, open and honest conversations happen and allow for sharing problems, ideas, and solutions.

Tailgate Talks is more than a name, it describes the process used to deliver exceptional services. It starts with open and active listening to clients and understanding concerns and then developing solutions.  The collaborative process is with a genuine and authentic professional who wants to be a part of your success.

Donald Forgione has nearly four decades of progressive leadership experience in the tourism, hospitality, environmental, and parks & recreation fields. He understands what it takes to foster a top-rate customer service culture.  His passion for the land and her people is inspiring and contagious. He has held many positions from Park Ranger to the former Director of Florida’s Park System which includes 1,800 employees, 27,000 volunteers, a $137M annual budget, and 174 parks. Under Donald’s leadership, the Florida Park Service was awarded the National Gold Medal for Excellence making Florida the only state to win this prestigious accolade four times. A sought-after consultant and speaker in many industries.

Donald is the lead author of the internationally acclaimed book, “The Ecotourism Provider’s Handbook, 180 Techniques for an Exceptional Park, Preserve, or Nature-based Attraction”, written in collaboration with Dr. Vincent Magnini.
